Hammered rivets and ventilation cut near the mouth add extra realism to the detailing.

A leather strap tightens beneath the chin to keep the Epic Dark helmet secured, and the piece is built from 0.04 in galvanized mild steel with full grain leather straps and fittings -- rugged enough for LARP or reenactment use as long as the metal and leather get regular upkeep.

Available in sizes M and L

Includes a leather fitting plus a loose foam band for adjusting the internal fit

History

A style of enclosed helmet worn during the late 12th to 13th centuries

Developed out of the earlier nasal helm

Typically worn over a mail coif and padding that absorbed the force of blows

Disclaimer: Our LARP products are for recreational use only.
