The four-piece set includes a two-piece gorget and two shoulders. The gorget covers the thorax to the sternum, furnished with several ridges and two large octagonal besagues (round metal shields) that guard the notoriously under-armored armpits from arrow strikes. Vegetable tanned full grain leather straps fit the two gorget pieces together, and the gorget also provides fastenings for the shoulders. The shoulders themselves are articulated spaulders covering the shoulder joint and upper arms, reinforced with large pauldrons sculpted like dragon's wings for further armpit protection, strapped on at the gorget and around the upper arms.

Made from mild steel with rolled edges forming ridges around the rims, the Gothic Arm Protection draws historically on the Renaissance, though its style and functionality are fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury armors -- giving you freedom to combine pieces and customize your character's look.

History

Gothic style historically developed in the 1420-1440s thanks to technological advances

Characterized by the curves, flutes and ridges, which strengthened the armor and deflected projectiles

Disclaimer: Our LARP products are for recreational use only.
