Its neutral look suits a wide range of characters: sculpted and painted to resemble iron, the face is reinforced with a brass rim and a studded star pattern, with a round shield boss set at the center to help deflect incoming strikes.

A punch grip tucked behind the boss lets you carry the Star Buckler in either hand, and the 5.5 in handle is anchored through hard EVA foam for a dependable, long-lasting hold. Built from latex, it's made to take the punishment of ongoing LARP combat provided you keep up with routine latex maintenance.

History

Originally developed for Bucellarii, personal armies of rich landowners in the late Roman Empire

Particularly popular with light-footed fighters during the Renaissance and Baroque eras

Used the Shield Boss, the round, convex piece of material at the center of the shield, to deflect blows

Disclaimer: Our LARP products are for recreational use only.
