The fiberglass core measures 0.31 in in diameter and 29.5 in long, strong and flexible, with a Kevlar tip fitted at the end to guard against accidents. A 23.6 in foam block is fastened securely around it, leaving a 5.9 in bare section at the core's end for mounting a handle; that block itself measures 2 in across and 1 in tall, made from a closed-cell foam that stays soft, light, and long-lasting.

Lengths available: 29.5 in, 33.5 in, 43.3 in, 55.1 in, 70.9 in

Directions for use

There's more than one way to shape a weapon from this blank, but here's a basic approach: carve the foam block with a knife or sandpaper into the form you want, being careful to leave enough foam around the core to keep it safe. Once you're happy with the shape, clean and dry the piece, then dip it in latex, letting each coat dry before adding the next for a smooth, protective finish.

A thin layer of silicone over the cured latex helps keep the surface from drying out and extends the weapon's lifespan. Inspect it for damage both before and after every use, and finish the handle with a wrap of leather or cloth.

Disclaimer: Our LARP products are for recreational use only.
