Cavalier Sword
Epic Armoury's Hybrid Cavalier Sword is a medium sword that channels the reckless attitude and rich style of 1600s cavaliers. It measures 29.5 in long, with a 20.1 in single-edged blade that widens toward the tip. The handle shows off impressive detail, including a crossguard that curves around the hand into the pommel, hand-painted to look like faded bronze, and a 5.5 in grip cast and painted to resemble ribbed leather, shaped ergonomically for the hand.
The blade combines closed cell foam and a fiberglass core under a strong latex coating, while the handle is a polyurethane foam cast for fine detail with no upkeep. This hybrid sword gives you confidence in the safety and appeal of your weapon on the battlefield.
History
"Cavalier" started out as an insult, aimed at royalist supporters during and after the English Civil War. Royalists later reclaimed the label for themselves, and over time it came to describe the flamboyant fashion of the English court in the 1600s. The word survives today with a different edge — call someone "cavalier" now and you're describing an arrogant attitude.
