Scout Belt Shields
These two rolled-edge steel plates from Epic Armoury hang off your own belt to cover the outer thighs, sliding into brown leather loops that are riveted securely in place. Each plate runs 9.8 in long by 8.3 in wide, held by a pair of 9.4 in folded leather loops.
Simplicity is the point -- this armour pairs with all kinds of costume styles and needs no help to put on or take off. Galvanized 0.04 in mild steel and chrome-tanned leather give it the toughness for LARP or reenactment use, provided you keep up regular leather and metal care.
- Available in Polished Steel and Epic Dark colors
History
- Plate armour spread as firearms grew more common through the 13th century
- Sculpted ridges and overlapping plates historically reinforced protection and deflected blows in the chaos of battle
