Merc Tassets - Light Kit
Epic Armoury's Merc Tassets (Light Kit) provide essential hip and thigh defense inspired by Renaissance pikeman armour. High-density polyurea gives them the structured, laminate look of steel with significantly reduced weight and no maintenance required.
These tassets are shaped as three overlapping plates covering the upper thighs. Built specifically for the Mercenary Armour set, they feature integrated squared holes that hook directly onto the cuirass fastenings, securing easily with leather cords.
Key Features
- High-density polyurea: light, impact-resistant, and naturally rust-proof
- Historical three-plate laminate profile echoing classic pikeman protection
- Squared attachment holes give a seamless fit with the Mercenary cuirass
- No oiling or polishing needed
- Sizes: S/M, L/XL
Fit, adjustment & care
Most of the fit comes from the strap system itself, but for an even closer fit, you can gently reshape the material with heat — apply it to the inside of the piece rather than the painted exterior so the material softens without harming the finish.
- Finish: The base material beneath the painted surface is black, so scratches and general wear may eventually reveal this black layer underneath.
- Easy touch-ups: Minor scuffs or scratches are simple to fix at home with a primer and acrylic hobby paints (such as Army Painter or Citadel).
- Leather care: Treat the leather straps like any other full-grain leather product, conditioning them occasionally to keep them supple and long-lasting.
- A living finish: Wear and patina are a natural part of your armour's lifecycle, adding to its authentic, battle-worn character over time.
