Churburg Complete Set
Epic Armoury's Polished Steel Churburg Complete Set is a straightforward, low-fantasy armour set including a breastplate, backplate, chain skirt, and shoulder guards. Made from 0.04 in thick mild steel with full grain leather straps and fittings, these riveted pieces are built to withstand LARP or reenactment combat with regular leather and metal care, and pair freely with Epic Armoury's other metalwork for a fully customized costume.
The Churburg Complete Set consists of the following pieces:
- The Churburg Armour is embellished with a wide 'V' on the front to deflect attacks away from the head. This armour protects most of the torso, including the ribs and lower back, and its crossed leather strap design helps it fit your size while spreading the armour's weight
- The Churburg Shoulders are a set of two simple spaulders, each a single solid metal lame with a beveled bottom to turn away strikes from the arm, fastened with leather straps around the biceps and at the shoulder, attaching to your gambeson
- The Chain Skirt protects your hips and thighs from enemy blows. Each butted steel ring interlocks with four others in a 4-in-1 pattern, and the skirt is hemmed in full grain leather for comfort around the waist and groin
The Churburg Complete Set is a sturdy armour choice for those seeking ultimate protection in battle!
- Available in Polished Steel and Epic Dark colors
- Available in sizes S/M and XL/2XL
History
- Loosely modeled on the Churburg #13 breastplate, a famous 14th-century armour set
- The historical piece was considered a "transitional" breastplate, meant to be worn over a great deal of chainmail
- Our version is scaled up considerably from the original, covering the whole chest
