Orc Short Sword - 23.6 in
Part of the Orc Universe line, this latex blade from Epic Armoury suits warlords and brute warriors alike. It runs 23.6 in overall with a 17.7 in heavy blade, sculpted with notches, dents, and scratches and hand-painted to look like battered iron. There's no crossguard on the 4.7 in grip — orcs don't flinch at pain — just a wrap of split leather for a firm hold.
A fiberglass core wrapped in closed cell foam and coated in strong latex gives this weapon the safety and battlefield appeal expected from LARP gear.
- Length: 23.6 in
Inspiration
- Orcs first appear in Old English and Anglo-Saxon writing, including Beowulf, as well as 16th-century Italian folktales
- The name traces back to Orcus, the Latin name for the Roman god of the dead
- J.R.R. Tolkien's 20th-century Lord of the Rings portrayed orcs as brutish, flesh-hungry aggressors
- That portrayal shaped countless later role-playing games, from Dungeons and Dragons to Warhammer and Warcraft
