Epic Armoury's Soldier's Halberd is a 74.8 in latex poleaxe modeled on the weapons carried during the late medieval period. Its axe-like head combines a 14.2 in chopping blade, a long thrusting spear, and a claw-like grappling spike, all specially reinforced for durability. Metal detailing and bolts run the length of the pole, finished with a sheen that reads as polished steel.
Made from durable closed cell foam around a fiberglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can feel confident that your LARP weapon will provide the safety and appeal you want when crafting your kit.
History
The halberd had its heyday in the 14th and 15th centuries; the name itself comes from the German Halm (staff) and Barte (axe). It was built mainly to hold mounted troops at a distance, though it proved versatile beyond that single use, the spike on the head, for instance, was added specifically to grapple riders off their horses.
