Battleworn Squire Sword
Drawing on European medieval sidearms for its shape, this short latex-hybrid sword from Epic Armoury comes in 33.5 in and 41.3 in lengths, both carrying a straight, double-edged blade with a central ridge. A crossguard angled toward the blade catches incoming strikes and shields the 3.9 in grip beneath it -- cast and painted to resemble real wood, dressed with metal accents. What sets this one apart is its weathering: rust spots, nicks, and scratches worked in for a genuinely battered, lived-in look, ideal when pristine just isn't the vibe.
Squire training toward knighthood, rank-and-file soldier, or an orc scavenger who figures worn gear still works -- whoever's wielding it, this sword meets our top tier for durability and finish. The blade pairs closed cell foam with a fiberglass core under a tough latex coat, and the handle is cast from maintenance-free polyurethane foam that holds detail well.
Between the construction and the finish, this hybrid sword earns its keep on the battlefield.
- Available in 33.5 in and 41.3 in length
History
- Often labeled a broadsword, a term that's technically inaccurate
