Leather Brigandine
Heavy leather plates reinforce this waistcoat-style armor across the torso, upper thighs, and groin, built from vegetable-tanned full-grain leather with brass-coated rivets to stay light without sacrificing toughness. Five leather straps and brass buckles close it down the front, with lacing along each flank, from armpit to mid-thigh, for further adjustment.
Its understated, low-fantasy look lets the Leather Brigandine cross over between games and characters, and it pairs naturally with other Epic Armoury armor. Expect it to hold up to years of LARP or reenactment wear given routine leather care.

History
- Soldiers from archers to knights wore this style over a gambeson or mail coat
- It spread widely from the 1400s onward, though this particular cut peaked in the 16th century
