Milanese Couters - Light Kit
The Milanese Couters (Light Kit) protect the elbows, covering both the joint and adjacent arm areas to deflect incoming strikes. High-density polyurea replicates the look and defensive geometry of traditional steel armour while remaining significantly lighter and more agile, ideal for adventurers who want reliable joint defense without the weight or upkeep of metal plate.
A curved, riveted shelf runs along the edge, engineered to catch and safely divert blows that would otherwise slide toward the arms. Because they're built from durable polyurea, these couters are entirely rust-proof and dent-resistant, staying in shape regardless of weather or the intensity of the skirmish.
Each piece secures with an adjustable leather strap for a comfortable fit, while integrated eyelets attach it firmly to your gambeson or arming shirt, preventing the armour from shifting during combat and keeping protection consistent throughout the event. They're fully compatible with the rest of the Milanese Light Kit series and other Epic Armoury equipment. Comes in pairs.
Why it is worth adding to your kit

- No specialized care needed: naturally rust- and dent-resistant
- Curved, reinforced edge that catches and deflects strikes away from the arm
- One-piece molded shape sculpted specifically to cup the elbow joint
- Full-grain leather strapping and eyelets for reliable attachment to padded underlayers
- Pairs easily with the rest of the Milanese Light Kit or other Epic Armoury pieces
- Sizes: One Size
Fit, adjustment & care
Most of the fit comes from the strap system itself, but for an even closer fit, you can gently reshape the material with heat — apply it to the inside of the piece rather than the painted exterior so the material softens without harming the finish.
- Finish: The base material beneath the painted surface is black, so scratches and general wear may eventually reveal this black layer underneath.
- Easy touch-ups: Minor scuffs or scratches are simple to fix at home with a primer and acrylic hobby paints (such as Army Painter or Citadel).
- Leather care: Treat the leather straps like any other full-grain leather product, conditioning them occasionally to keep them supple and long-lasting.
- A living finish: Wear and patina are a natural part of your armour's lifecycle, adding to its authentic, battle-worn character over time.
