Sky Hook
Epic Armoury's Sky Hook offers an alternate way to carry your weapon, with more support than a standard waist belt. This specialized full-grain leather baldric straps around the torso and is both durable and attractive. Leather straps cross the chest in an X, while the scabbard itself sits diagonally across the back; slide your sword or large axe through the holder so its tip rests inside the chape and its crossguard, or axe head, sits inside the two hooks. This makes placing and removing the weapon quick, while keeping the scabbard steady while you fight.
Almost any outfit benefits from this clever weapon holder, especially for an epic fantasy look. Left-handed wearers can untie and reverse the Sky Hook's scabbard and belts so the weapon sits over the left shoulder instead of the right.
- Available in Epic Black and Dark Brown colors
History
- Historians disagree on whether fighters actually wore weapons on their backs, though some theories suggest larger weapons were occasionally worn that way by the Celts
- Popularized as a method of carrying weapons largely through videogames and movies
