Woodsman Knife & Holder
Epic Armoury's Brown Woodsman Knife Holder ships with a knife and is purpose-built to hold the Epic Armoury Woodsman throwing knife. Two leather ties attach the handmade holder to a belt or armor, and a leather strap buttons over the knife to keep it secure even during rough fights.
Made from leather with reinforced edge stitching, this holder is built to hold its shape and withstand the abuse of LARP with regular leather care.
- Comes in Epic Black or Ox Brown
- Offered in Right- and Left-handed fits
History
- This style of holder is sometimes called a "frog"
- It historically hung an edged weapon's scabbard vertically from the belt
- Knife throwing has roots in hunting and martial arts long before it became a sport
- An unsuccessful throw was historically risky, since it could leave the thrower unarmed while arming the opponent
- The Woodsman Dagger was shaped to resemble a "balanced knife," the style favored by most Western traditions
