Soldier Gorget
Epic Armoury's Soldier Gorget sits around the neck, protecting the thorax and shoulders. Handmade and molded to sit comfortably on the shoulders, this gorget delivers strong battlefield protection without being overly ornate -- a practical look that transfers easily between costumes or suits a simple medieval soldier.
The Soldier's Gorget is made from two pieces: one side secured with a bolt, the other closed with an adjustable leather strap. Thread canvas ties through the leather shoulder plates to attach it to your gambeson. With regular leather and metal care, this quality-made armor will last a long time.

"Gorget" itself derives from the word for throat. Early examples typically sat under a breastplate and backplate to help bear the weight of heavier plate armor, while later versions grew larger and were made to be worn over clothing instead.
