Leonidas
Facing down a thousand invading nations calls for a weapon like Epic Armoury's Sword of Leonidas, a latex blade styled after the makhaira, an ancient single-edged sword or knife with more than a passing resemblance to a modern bowie knife, built to chop cleanly through opposition. Both the crossguard and the pommel curve into hooked shapes that guard the 3.9 in suede-wrapped handle. A fiberglass core inside durable closed cell foam, coated in strong latex, delivers the safety and appearance you'd want for a Spartan-themed kit.
History
- Classified as a makhaira, an ancient blade type defined by its single cutting edge
- The leaf-shaped profile suited both cutting and thrusting, a design likely dating back to some of the earliest swords ever made
