Dark Elven Axe - 26.4 in
Purpose-built for Epic Armoury's Dark Elven collection, this axe runs 25.6 in overall and carries a large, spiked head shaped for menace. The 12.6 in crescent-shaped head is serrated and styled to resemble claw or bone, while the 21.7 in haft is finished in a dark wood tone that adds to the weapon's grim character.
A solid fiberglass core wrapped in closed cell foam, sealed under strong latex, gives this piece the safety and durability expected of an Epic Armoury battlefield weapon.
History
- The earliest hafted axes date to roughly 6,000 B.C., held together with birch-tar and raw-hide lashings
- Battle axes often served double duty as tools, and cost less to produce than swords
