Fleur Mace
Epic Armoury's Fleur Mace is an 34.6 in one-handed mace with an ornate design. Its large head carries five hooked flanges around a pointed crown, sculpted and hand-painted to look like metal despite being made from soft foam over a harder foam core. The head attaches to a shaft painted and sculpted to match, reinforced with brass-look cuffs, and a 6.7 in grip wrapped in chrome-tanned suede gives it an ergonomic hold.
Built from closed-cell foam around a solid 0.4 in fiberglass core and finished in durable latex, this mace is ready to anchor a Sovereign-themed kit.
History
- A traditional mace flange was meant to punch through armor, though the hooked design here would also work for pulling a knight from horseback
- Maces were originally designed to injure through blunt force rather than penetrate armor
- Commonly forged from iron, though copper and bronze versions existed too
