Pike Pole
Epic Armoury's Pike Pole is a 35.4 in infantry spear blending features of both the glaive and the pike. A long bladed spearhead with a clawed spike, sculpted and hand-painted to look like metal, tops the weapon — though the head itself is soft foam over a harder foam core for safety. It joins a hand-painted shaft textured like dark wood, with a shortened grip built for better handling in close combat.
Built around a solid 0.4 in fiberglass core wrapped in durable closed cell foam and finished with strong latex, this LARP spear is designed to deliver both safety and battlefield appeal.
History
- A true pike would feature a spearhead without a blade or claw
- Pikes and bladed spears often competed in length to outmatch opponents
- Was not historically great in close combat, but this version has been shortened to be more wieldy on the battlefield
