Steel Mace
Inspired by historical medieval weapons, Epic Armoury's Steel Mace runs 37.4 in in latex. Five long flanges line the 11.8 in head, each featuring a speared spike, plus a separate spike at the very top. A 3.9 in handle at the end of the grooved, steel-colored staff is wrapped in black split-leather for a comfortable grip.
Closed cell foam over a fiberglass core, finished in a strong latex coating, gives this LARP weapon the safety and reliable, unique appeal your costume needs.
History
- Flange would have been designed to penetrate armor
- Maces were first designed to cause harm without penetrating armor due to the force of their blows
- Large knobs in a mace would have added weight to add more bludgeoning damage
