Sentinel Spear - 70.9 in
At 70.9 in overall, this latex polearm from Epic Armoury takes its form from the glaive. A hand-painted, gently curved 23.6 in blade meets a 43.3 in wood-toned pole through a metal fitting set with a colored gem, and soft split-leather wrapping along the shaft keeps the grip firm and comfortable, ending in a coreless pommel built for safe sparring.
Closed cell foam over a fiberglass core, finished in a strong latex coating, gives this weapon the durability and safety expected from an Epic Armoury LARP prop.
History
- Spear-type weapons have been used in hunting for at least 400,000 years
- They dominated Stone Age warfare and stayed relevant right up until firearms took over
- This design follows the glaive pattern, where a single-edged blade tops a pole
