Viking Dragon
Epic Armoury's Wood Viking Dragon Shield is an 31.5 in round latex shield drawing on the look of early, pre-10th century Vikings and Saxons. A wooden texture combines with a wood-and-iron paint finish, and paired with a Viking Axe it makes a strong impression on the battlefield. The slight convex curve and iron boss on the front give it a combat edge, while laser-cut detailing and a golden double-headed dragon sigil set it apart visually.

History
Shields of this type sometimes had iron rims added for reinforcement, along with a round, convex Shield Boss at the center to deflect blows. The round wooden style dominated the early European Middle Ages, generally built from light, non-splintering wood such as linden, fir, alder, or poplar.
