Battleworn Ranger Sword
Rusty spots, nicks, scratches, a grimed and neglected finish - Epic Armoury's Battleworn Ranger Sword is built to look like it has survived countless fights. That character makes it just as believable as the trusty blade of a heroic outlaw, the tool of an unscrupulous assassin, stolen goods scavenged off a battlefield by an orc, or a hand-me-down carried by the daughter of a nomadic warrior clan - the character possibilities are nearly endless.
Don't let the worn finish fool you: the Battleworn Ranger Sword is every bit as dependable as any clean blade in our range, and this hybrid model will give you full confidence in its safety and appeal on the battlefield. It comes in two lengths to suit different characters - a 23.6 in shortsword and a 41.3 in longsword - built as an impressively durable latex-hybrid sword inspired by medieval weapons and fantasy lore alike. The crossguard carries an intricate curved design that protects a leather-like grip, wide near the crossguard and narrowing toward a golden "scent stopper" pommel for an ergonomic hold. The blade is closed cell foam around a fiberglass core finished with a strong latex coating, while the handle is a polyurethane foam cast for extra detail with no maintenance.
- Available in 23.6 in and 41.3 in length
History
This style counts as a long knife, close in size and shape to the thrusting dagger known as a "dirk," historically carried by officers as a personal sidearm. Its pommel takes the "scent stopper" shape popular in the 16th century, a design that mimics the stoppers found on old crystal perfume bottles.
