Battle Axe - 33.5 in
Northern Dwarven warriors would recognize this axe from Epic Armoury: a crescent-shaped head sweeping back toward a wood-grained haft, built for close-quarters fighting. The edge curves 14.2 in long and 6.3 in wide, held to the haft with a large gold-toned plate, and the whole weapon runs 31.5 in from a sculpted pommel to the head, with a 9.8 in grip wrapped in split leather. Inside, a solid fiberglass core sits within closed-cell foam, capped with a durable latex coating for safe, convincing battlefield play.
History
- The earliest hafted axes date to roughly 6,000 B.C., when birch tar and raw hide lashed blade to handle
- Beyond combat, battle axes often served as everyday tools and cost less to produce than swords
