Viking Arm Protection
Epic Armoury's Viking Arm Protection reimagines ancient splint armor as a set of vambraces. Don't let their slender look fool you, vertical steel strips run the length of each piece, guarding the forearms without restricting movement, and they layer easily over leather or fabric sleeves. Three leather straps hold each vambrace snugly in place. Built from 0.04 in galvanized mild steel along with leather straps and fittings, the set is designed to take the wear of LARP or reenactment use provided you keep up with routine leather and metal care.
History
- Splint armor is thought to date back more than two thousand years
- It most often appeared as greaves or vambraces, protecting the limbs
