Doublet Aramis

Epic Armoury's Dark Red Doublet Aramis is a fitted, long-sleeved jacket cut to flatter the male form, reaching from torso to hip. Embroidered eyelets across the chest and upper back let it layer neatly beneath armor or a cloak, and a front cord-lacing system lets you dial in exactly how snug it sits. The sleeves themselves detach easily -- just untie the cords hidden beneath the decorative shoulder tabs, each threaded through long-wearing brass eyelets.

Layers of wool and satin, stitched in slimming lines, give the doublet enough warmth for cooler weather while keeping its silhouette close to the body in a style reminiscent of the Tudor era.

  • Colors: Emperor Red, Charcoal Gray
  • Sizes: S, M, L, XL

History

  • Doublets began as padding worn beneath armor
  • Over time they evolved into a fashion statement, shaping the torso while their ties held up the hose
  • They also served to keep the core warm
