Haxe - 33.5 in
Epic Armoury's Haxe is an 33.5 in axe designed for a fighter who favors cunning over brute force. It pairs a 6.3 in axe blade with an opposing hammerhead, giving it extra bite against armored opponents. The head is hand-painted with engraved cross detailing to look like metal, though it's made from safe foam throughout, and the ridged shaft is sculpted and painted to match. A 4.7 in grip, wrapped in chrome-tanned suede, sits at the base for comfort and control.
Construction follows our standard approach: closed-cell foam around a solid 0.4 in fiberglass core, sealed with a durable latex coating, so your axe stays safe and battle-ready.
History
- The earliest hafted axes date to roughly 6,000 B.C., secured with birch-tar and raw-hide lashings
- Battle axes often served double duty as tools and cost less to produce than swords
