Elven Wing Axe
Standing 59.1 in from butt to blade-tip, the Elven Wing Axe from Epic Armoury is built for elven warriors who fight at semi-ranged distance. A crescent-shaped head sweeps back toward the wood-grained haft, its 27.6 in curved edge sculpted and painted to resemble the feathers of a great bird. A decorative gold plate, spanning the head's 6.3 in width, locks the blade to the shaft with convincing realism.
Underneath the finish is a solid fiberglass core wrapped in durable closed-cell foam and sealed with a tough latex coating, giving this LARP weapon the safety and battlefield-ready looks your kit deserves.
History
- The first hafted axe was created about 6,000 B.C. using birch-tar and raw-hide lashings to fix the blade
- Many battle axes doubled as tools and were cheaper to make than swords
- Axes are still very prevalent today and is one of the most common tools found in most households, around the world
