Mempo Half-mask
Drawing on the half-masks worn by early Asian soldiers, Epic Armoury's Mempo covers the face from the bridge of the nose down to the chin, with four ventilation slits over the mouth so it stays comfortable through long wear. Two long cotton-weave cords tie behind the head to hold it in place.
Cut from 0.12 in vegetable-tanned full-grain leather, it adds a striking layer to a historical or fantasy costume and, with regular leather care, stands up to heavy use.

- Japanese and Chinese infantry and cavalry wore masks like this from as early as 200 BC
- They helped balance and secure top-heavy helmets and were often decorated to look fiercer
