Shoulder Armour & Neck Guard
Epic Armoury's Shoulder Armour and Neck Guard is a leather set with two spaulders and a gorget protecting the shoulders and throat. Made from vegetable tanned full grain leather, it uses overlapping plates and two small sword-breakers to deflect attacks away from the head. Every exposed edge is reinforced with leather and stitching to resist deformation from heavy use.
Thread a leather strap through two loops on the back to secure the Shoulder Armour and Neck Guard around your neck, then tighten the heavy leather cords and straps at the upper arms to fit. Handsome and neutral in style, this armor suits an assortment of characters across many different worlds.
- Available in Dark Brown & Epic Black and Epic Black & Dark Brown colors, sizes M and L
History
Metal versions of this armor originally inspired the design here, historically built with sculpted ridges and overlapping plates to reinforce protection and deflect chaotic battlefield attacks. It's also known as a gorget, literally meaning "throat," and earlier examples were typically worn beneath a breastplate and backplate to help carry the weight of heavier plate armor.
