Burgonet
Cavalry units of the sixteenth century wore the helmet that inspired Epic Armoury's Polished Steel Burgonet, complete with a visor shaped to sit comfortably without blocking vision and extended cheek guards framing the face. A crest runs front to back along the crown to help deflect blows, and a curved plate at the neck guards from behind; for added security, a riveted metal bar locks the faceplate in position, and a sturdy leather chin strap keeps the whole helmet seated. Construction pairs 0.04 in mild steel with full-grain vegetable-tanned leather straps and steel buckles, standing up to regular LARP or reenactment wear with routine leather and metal care, a leather fitting and loose foam band come included for adjusting the internal fit.
