Chainmail Hood - Alaric
Epic Armoury's Alaric Chainmail Hood is a flexible mail coif made of interlinked steel rings, covering the head, neck, and shoulders. Each butted ring connects to four others in a 4-in-1 pattern.
The Alaric Chainmail suits heavy medieval infantry, sergeants, and early knights alike. Wear it over one of our undercaps and top it with a Crusader, Norman, or Spangen helmet for the most comfortable, authentic setup. Pair it with additional Epic Armoury metalwork and clothing to round out your character.

History
This mail style counts among the oldest armor types on record, with descendants of its slash-resistant design still found in modern protective technology. Its story starts in the 4th century B.C., near the famed showdown between Greek and Persian forces at Thermopylae, and it went on to become a mainstay for Roman and early medieval infantry and knights.
