Scout Shoulder Plates
Epic Armoury's Scout Shoulder Plates are small mild steel plates built to cover your shoulders. Each shoulder plate is a single plate secured to the side of a gorget with a tie string, made from 0.04 in steel forged to fit comfortably over the shoulder.
Made from polished mild steel with rolled edges, these arm guards are practical and affordable while still allowing a degree of mobility. Their low-fantasy, neutral appearance pairs easily with other Epic Armoury metal works.

History
Plate armor of this kind gained popularity as firearms spread through the 13th century, historically shaped with sculpted ridges and overlapping plates to reinforce protection and deflect blows in chaotic combat. Earlier versions typically sat beneath a breastplate and backplate, helping distribute the weight of the heavier plate armor above.
