Torso Armour Merc
Epic Armoury's Mercenary Torso Plate is a leather-and-steel cuirass covering the front and back of the torso. The breastplate rises in an inverted U around the neck, peaks over the chest, and slopes down around the ribcage before rounding gently at the hem to clear the hips while still shielding the pelvis. The steel plate is mounted on a black leather base that straps to the matching back plate at the shoulders and sides.
Designed to match Epic Armoury's Mercenary Armour, this plate also works with our other metal pieces for a fully customized costume. It's made from 0.04 in mild steel with leather straps and fittings, built to withstand LARP or reenactment wear with regular care.
- Available in Epic Dark & Epic Black and Polished Steel & Dark Brown
- Available in sizes S/M and L/XL
History
- Plate armor grew more common as firearms spread during the 13th century
- Historic designs used sculpted ridges and overlapping plates to reinforce protection and deflect blows in combat
