RFB Breastplate
The Ready for Battle Breastplate from Epic Armoury is a handmade cuirass that guards the front of the torso and abdomen. A small flange, or sword turner, sits at the hips to deflect blows away from the weak seam between torso and leg armor. Sculpted for a close body fit, this simple piece pairs with any other Epic Armoury metal armor.
Secure the RFB Breastplate over your gambeson using the 1.6 in wide leather straps that cross the back. It's made of polished 0.04 in thick mild steel with leather straps and fittings, built to withstand LARP or reenactment combat with regular leather and metal care.
- Available in Polished Steel and Epic Dark colors
- Available in sizes S, M, L and XL
History
- Plate armor grew more popular through the 13th century as firearms became more widespread
