Gothic Half Armour
Built for battlefield nobility, this bestselling Gothic Half Armour from Epic Armoury includes front and back plates, faulds, and tassets. A central crease and rim ridges shape the breastplate, while the armor hugs close to the arms and throat to minimize weak points. The matching breast and backplates run down past the abdomen into the tassets, which sit beneath the faulds, overlapping modelled plates that guard the vulnerable pelvis.
Mild steel with rolled edges and full grain leather straps and fittings make this Gothic Half Armour tough enough for LARP or reenactment combat while keeping the wearer safe and comfortable. With regular leather and metal care, expect it to last for years.
History
- The Gothic style historically emerged in the 1420s-1440s as armor-making technology advanced
- Its curves, flutes, and ridges both strengthened the armor and helped deflect projectiles
