Chainmail - Alaric
The Alaric Chainmail, part of the Epic Armoury range, is a long-sleeved mail shirt built from interlinked steel rings that reaches from the shoulders down to the thighs, with sleeve coverage extending to the wrists. The body of the mail uses butted rings arranged in a 4-in-1 pattern, while the armpit area is reinforced with riveted rings to handle the extra stress that builds up there during movement. Every ring is treated with Epic Armoury's own Metal coat to guard against rust, so with basic metal care this piece is built to serve for years of reenactment use.
Its long sleeves and thigh-length cut make the Alaric well suited to heavy medieval infantry, sergeants, and early knights alike. For the most authentic and comfortable fit, wear it layered over one of the Epic Armoury gambesons, and round out the look with matching Epic Armoury metalwork and clothing.
