Scout Leg Guards
Epic Armoury's Scout Leg Guards, in Epic Dark, are mild steel greaves designed to protect the shin and front of the lower leg without giving up all maneuverability. Each leg guard is a single plate secured with a sturdy yet flexible leather strap. Forged from 0.04 in steel, they fit comfortably over the front of the leg just above the knee joint.
A double leather band around the upper-mid and lower-mid of the leg guard keeps the Scout Leg Guards fitted comfortably over your shin. Made from mild steel with rolled edges, they're practical and affordable, and their low-fantasy, neutral appearance pairs easily with other Epic Armoury metal works.
- Available in Polished Steel and Epic Dark colors, sizes S/M, L/XL and XL/2XL
History
Militaries have relied on leg guards since ancient times, and the idea persists today in sports gear like soccer and American football shin guards. On a medieval battlefield they carried particular weight — holding formation meant your lower body stayed planted, and going down could break the entire line.
