Floating Knee
Epic Armoury's Floating Knee is a pair of poleyns built to shield the knees, including the sides and upper shins, from stray arrows and blows. Overlapping plates keep the piece flexible and comfortable enough for real mobility on the field.
Each Floating Knee is held in place with two leather straps and made from 0.04 in mild steel with full-grain leather fittings, built to withstand LARP or reenactment use with standard leather and metal care.
- Available in Polished Steel and Epic Black
History
- Knee protection was among the earliest forms of plate armor
- The extra side-projecting design emerged during the Gothic style of the late 15th century to better protect the side of the knee
