Imperial Gambeson
Long sleeves and neck-to-hip coverage define the Epic Armoury Imperial Gambeson, a padded coat that varies its stitching -- vertical in some zones, horizontal in others -- to preserve as much range of motion as possible. On its own it functions as quilted armor, a use dating back at least to 400 BC, though it's most often worn beneath heavier metal armor. Basic on its own, it becomes genuinely strong protection once layered under plate or chainmail.
