Gambeson Dastan
Long-sleeved and heavily padded, the Dastan gambeson runs from the neck down over the hips and thighs to the shin, front and back alike, and works equally well solo or as a base layer under mail or plate. It closes at the front with adjustable straps like a jacket, so you control the fit yourself, and the shoulders unfasten independently, untie the cotton cords running through their brass eyelets at the shoulder and sleeve to remove them.

History
