Hellfire - Red - 35.4 in
Part of the Orc Universe collection, Epic Armoury's Hellfire is a mid-length blade hand-finished in deep gradients of red and orange that give it the look of magical flame. The 23.6 in double-edged blade shows a notched, worn edge, meeting a dark metal-toned crossguard that guards a 5.9 in ergonomic grip; chrome-tanned suede wraps the handle for secure comfort, finishing at a roughly gemmed pommel. A fiberglass core inside durable closed cell foam, topped with a tough latex coat, makes it a safe and eye-catching centerpiece for an orc-themed kit.
Inspiration
- Orcs first appear in Old English and Anglo-Saxon writing, and later in sixteenth-century Italian folk tales
- The name traces back to the Latin 'Orcus', the Roman god of the dead
- Tolkien's twentieth-century Lord of the Rings cast orcs as violent, flesh-hungry brutes
- That portrayal shaped countless later role-playing games, including Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, and Warcraft
