Dark Elven War Axe - 39.4 in
Part of the Dark Elven Universe collection, this 39.4 in latex axe from Epic Armoury carries a large, spiked head built to look claw- or bone-like: crescent-shaped, serrated, and 12.6 in along its length. The 17.7 in haft is finished in a dark wood tone that adds to the weapon's menacing character.
Closed cell foam over a fiberglass core, sealed under a strong latex coating, gives this LARP weapon the safety and battlefield presence your kit deserves.
History
- The earliest hafted axes date to around 6,000 B.C., held together with birch-tar and raw-hide lashings
- Battle axes often doubled as everyday tools and cost less to produce than swords
- Dark elves first appear in Norse mythology as the Dokkalfar or Svartalfar, recorded in the 13th-century Prose Edda
