Viking Shield
Epic Armoury's Viking Shield is a round latex shield inspired by early, pre-10th century Vikings and Saxons. Its face combines a wooden texture with a smooth-textured area and an iron paint finish, and paired with a Viking Axe it makes a strong impression on the battlefield. A slight convex curve and iron boss on the front give it a combat edge, while the simple wooden texture doubles as a blank canvas for your own custom insignia or emblems.

History
Builders sometimes reinforced these shields with iron rims and topped them with a round, convex Shield Boss at the center to help deflect blows. This round wooden style was the dominant form through the early European Middle Ages, typically shaped from light, non-splintering woods like linden, fir, alder, or poplar.
