Crusader Shield 27.6x19.7 in
Epic Armoury's Crusader Shield is a semi-curved kite shield inspired by 10th- to 12th-century Normans. Painted with a wooden texture, a metallic heraldic symbol at the center, and a metallic edge, it fits perfectly in the hands of a crusader or other religious infantry member for LARP.
Three canvas arm straps on the back, secured through hard EVA foam, let you wear the Crusader Shield left- or right-handed with a reliable, lasting grip. Keep up with regular latex care and this shield will take LARP combat in stride for a long time.
- Available in Dark Wood & Steel Gray, Epic Black & Ivory White and Light Wood colors
History
Also known as a "kite" shield, this style traces back to the 10th through 12th centuries and is closely tied to the Normans, who were the first to adopt it widely. Original versions were made of non-splintering woods such as alder, fir, poplar, or linden.
