Thegn Shield
Built for coastal raiding and aggressive fighting, Epic Armoury's Thegn Shield comes in two sizes, 70 and 31.5 in, and takes its shape from early Viking and Saxon war-gear. Land on foreign shores in your ruler's name and let this shield carry the weight of that reputation. Carved from EVA foam and coated in latex for LARP safety, it shows wood grain on both faces, vegan leather trim, and even tiny sculpted nail heads set into the braces for extra realism.
A hand-painted finish gives it the look of aged, natural wood, with a white and blue spiral across the face and deliberately worn paintwork suited to gritty fantasy settings or on-camera use. The face curves slightly outward, and a metallic-painted boss at the center adds a combat edge, while a suede-wrapped punch grip keeps it comfortable to hold. Regular latex care keeps it in fighting shape.

In the Service of the King
- "Thegn" is Old English for a servant, used for a rank of nobleman beneath the king, and sometimes for a soldier in royal service
- The raised, convex boss at a shield's center historically deflected incoming blows
- Round shields of this kind dominated the early European Middle Ages and were typically built from light, non-splintering woods like linden, fir, alder, or poplar
