Iarla Shield
The Vegvisir Iarla Shield is a 27.6 in round latex piece from Epic Armoury built to accompany you to the farthest shores and back - no storm or rising tide need worry you with it at your side. Drawing inspiration from early Vikings and Saxons, this LARP-safe shield is carved from EVA foam to mimic real wood grain, then coated in durable latex with the texture repeated on both front and back for a genuinely immersive look. Small sculpted nails are even worked into the braces for added detail.
The face is hand-painted in white with an Icelandic-inspired design meant to guide you on your path, while a slight convex curve and a metallic-painted boss give you an edge in combat. The punch-grip, wrapped in suede leather, sits comfortably in hand. Keep it in top shape with regular latex maintenance.
- Available in Ivory White, Epic Black & Crimson Red, Light Wood & Ivory White and Ice Blue, Ivory White & Crimson Red colors
- Available in 70 and 31.5 in diameters
The Viking Compass
Iarla is Irish for "Earl," a fitting name for the higher-ranking warriors of your tribe. Vegvísir, meanwhile, is the Icelandic word for "wayfinder" — a magical symbol believed to keep its bearer from losing their way in foul weather. At the shield's center, the round convex Shield Boss deflected incoming blows, and the round wooden shield style itself was common in the early European Middle Ages, typically built from light, non-splintering woods like linden, fir, alder, or poplar.
