They protect the top and side of the shoulder from enemy attacks without restricting arm movement, shaped to look like overlapping steel plates -- a common spaulder style from Medieval times. A vegetable-tanned full-grain leather strap makes for easy adjustment, and because polyurea foam flexes naturally, the armor bends to your body for better mobility and quicker movement.
