Steel is hard to beat for authentic protection, but it carries real downsides: it is heavy, unyielding, and rusts without constant care. Unless you are stepping onto a re-enactment or SCA field, that level of protection is more than most costumers actually need.
That is the thinking behind Epic Armoury's Light Kit line. These armors are molded from polyurea to look like genuine metal plate while solving the problems steel creates. They are built around comfort and low weight so wearers can look armored without carrying the burden of the real thing.
At a glance, a Light Kit piece is nearly impossible to tell apart from its steel counterpart, yet it stays comfortable through hours of wear. Because the polyurea flexes with your movement rather than resisting it, each piece typically weighs about a quarter of the equivalent steel part, cutting fatigue and speeding you up. Every piece is hand painted in a durable acrylic finish for a realistic look, needs no rust-proofing, and shrugs off any weather. Adjustable leather straps combine with the flexible shell for a comfortable fit. The Knightly Light Kit Greaves themselves draw on Medieval armor and the imagery of valiant knights.
It suits LARP, cosplay, costume parties, and stage work equally well.
